We are a Swiss company which made an investment, together with two local partners, in a Spanish manufacturing company operating in an anticipated high-growth, high-margin business. Shortly after set-up we were approached by one of our main suppliers, a multinational group, who wanted, initially, to form a joint venture with us. We asked Phil to help us with some of the due diligence requests and then, following what turned out to be the acquisition of a majority stake, to coordinate the communication between the initial investors, the company and the acquiring group in order to ensure that the acquisition integrated smoothly. We have been impressed by the speed with which Phil gained a detailed knowledge of our business and dealt intelligently and sensitively with the issues that arose in order to avoid unnecessary conflicts between the different interests, developing along the way excellent working relationships with everyone involved. Initially we involved him to deal with a specific situation, but he has established himself without question as a part-time CFO to the business, taking a weight of our minds and, I am sure, those of the other shareholders.
